Volunteers are the lifeblood of Paradox Church. Without those willing to share the time and talents God has given them, we could never fulfill our mission to reach people far from God and lead them to be fully-devoted followers of Jesus. On any given Sunday, it takes about 50 people to make Paradox’s services happen. There are also many support activities, community building programs, and outreach events that require volunteer involvement during the week.
Below are snapshots of ministries that are always looking for new volunteers. Most have “first serve” opportunities that are a great way to test the waters with low-commitment tasks to get you started. If you see something that interests you, contact that ministry lead at the email provided. If you have any general questions, or would like some more background information, please contact email@example.com.
Frontline is the team greeting people at the door, passing out programs, answering questions at our 411 information table, and, in general, just helping people. This is a great serving opportunity for anyone who is friendly, loves meeting new people, and can volunteer one or two Sundays per month.
It’s a scientific fact that people like coffee and treats. Equally true, people love talking to others while partaking in coffee and treats. The Café Team makes this happen every week and they can always use help with set-up or tear down. They also rely on volunteers to provide the snacks, fruit and baked goods.
SERVICE PRODUCTION (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Many hands make light work . . . and sound and computers and cameras and staging. If you would like to be hands-on behind the scenes of Paradox tech on a Sunday morning, this is the team for you. Professional production experience not required, just a willingness to learn some cool stuff and serve at least one service a month.
You don’t need to join a team to pray, but you do need to enjoy prayer to be on this team. The purpose of this team is to reach out to God in praise, thanksgiving and petition for the needs of Paradox Church. Members of this team are copied on prayer requests that come into the staff each week. They also frequently make themselves available to pray with people after service. No special skills needed for this team, just a heart for the Lord and a desire to talk to Him.
Jesus loves children, and Journey loves Jesus and children. If you love Jesus and children, you will want to serve with Journey, our children's program. Every Sunday, we show kids birth - 5th Grade how much God loves them through interactive teach, crafts and activities. Whether it’s snuggling an adorable baby, or playing Simon Peter Says with energy-filled elementary kids, this team has a spot for you. Team members serve once a month as either a teacher or a room helper.
This is our student ministry, not a military uprising (usually). Grades 6-12 meet every Monday evening for Youth Night, a time of teaching, small group discussions, worship, snacks and fun! Sprinkle in service projects and events for the kids, and you have a very active ministry in need of volunteer support. If you are feeling led to work with teens as a teacher, coordinator, chaperone, or even just to hang with them, this is the opportunity for you.
A new person comes to Paradox and fills out a connection card. Now what? The Connection Team reaches out with a welcome letter, email and lunch invite. What about someone reaching out for information or prayer? This team connects them to the right people and information. If you have some time during the week to send out emails and letters, the Connection Team could use your help.
PARADOX IMPACT (email@example.com)
Paradox believes in sharing God's love outside our church walls, to help those in need locally, nationally and internationally. From local service projects to global mission trips, we aim to make a difference. To get involved with project/trip planning or to get more information on coming events, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you have any experience with web design, graphic design, writing copy or any other marketing skills? Are you an effective communicator and comfortable using the internet and social media? If yes to any of these, this team could put your skills in motion to help Paradox spread the word about our services, events and programs.
The Security Team patrols the different areas of our building, inside and out, to be our eyes and ears to ensure a safe environment for all. The team also guides people to the right locations when needed and maintains radio contact with all our ministries to direct people in the event of an emergency.
Don’t you just love it when things are orginized, neat and done “right”? If you’re like “huh?”, then go look at another team! If you resonate with that first sentence, and you are outraged that the word organized was misspelled, then you should sign up for the Admin Team. There are several administrative tasks across a variety of ministries that can use someone like you.
