To reach people far from God and lead them to be fully devoted followers of Jesus.

The Climb is a process that we journey on together at Paradox to grow stronger in our devotion to Jesus, to increase our knowledge of how wonderful He is and to better understand the purpose that He has for our lives. We invite you to come on this journey with us because we believe our best life is found when we become fully devoted to Jesus Christ. Below, you’ll find an overall view of the entire journey, followed by a breakdown of how we see these steps. If you have any questions, please email

Base Camp is where people start to become acclimated to Paradox Church and see what it looks like to journey with Jesus. In this camp, people will start to learn our culture, understand Bible basics, and connect with other people at Paradox. Our hope is these steps will inspire people to continue to seek a personal relationship with Jesus. Base Camp activities include:

Sunday Services
Welcome Lunch
Church Events
Paradox ISMs Class
Bible Discovery Class
Invite Cards (use these to invite friends to church)
Complete the Spiritual Assessment on The Pathway

In this camp, people will start to build their roots at Paradox. Our hope is they will start to engage with other people and start to engage with God as they come to know Him more. At this point, we anticipate (but don’t require) that people will make a proclamation of faith in Jesus and desire to start growing in their walk with Him. Camp 1 includes:

Community Service Projects
Service Teams
Small Group
PIT Stop
Climbing Partner
Start the Love God modules on The Pathway

In this camp, people are starting to develop a desire to know God past the surface. They have started to experience what it looks like to do life with Jesus. Our hope, in this point of The Climb, is to equip participants to grow and strengthen their walk with Jesus by increasing their obedience to the principles taught in the Bible. Camp 2 includes:

Spiritual Disciplines (journaling, prayer, studying the Bible, and extended quiet time with Jesus)
Sharing Your Faith (check out this message from September 2018)
Long-Term Small Group
Begin the Build Character modules on The Pathway

Once a person reaches Camp 3, they are devoted in their relationship with Jesus and they are able to use that love and overflow in their heart to influence others in positive ways. They are taking steps towards leading others who are earlier in their journey with Jesus. Camp 3 includes:

Influencing Individuals:
Begin the Love People modules on The Pathway
Mission Trips
Become a Climbing Partner on The Pathway
Defending Your Faith
Leading People to Christ

Influencing Groups:
Leadership Development
Leading at Paradox
Begin the Be the Body modules on The Pathway

Living your life for the glory of God. (There are no items to check off at this stage, because this is not the end. It’s an ongoing intimate relationship with Jesus.) 1 John 1:7: “But if we walk in the light, as Jesus is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, His son, cleanses us from all sin.”) The Summit includes:

Doing daily, independent Bible study and prayer alone
Having an accountability partner
Demonstrating visible changes in your life for the glory of God

“When outsiders who have never heard of God’s law follow it more or less by instinct, they confirm its truth by their obedience. They show that God’s law is not something alien, imposed on us from without, but woven into the very fabric of our creation. There is something deep within them that echoes God’s yes and no, right and wrong. Their response to God’s yes and no will become public knowledge on the day God makes his final decision about every man and woman. The Message from God that I proclaim through Jesus Christ takes into account all these differences.” Romans 2.14-16 (MSG)
