Fun Fact: Monday is National “Ditch Your Resolution” Day. Why? Because by January 17th, most people have already given up on theirs. Why is it so easy to “go back” to our old ways? The ways of life that were so hard, so draining, so exhausting, and even so destructive… somehow end up becoming appealing again. Comfortable. Familiar. Or at least easier. Don’t give up. Don’t go back! It can be hard work to adjust to a life of freedom, but that’s exactly what Jesus died to give you! Freedom from the things that enslaved you - the things you didn’t want to do but kept finding yourself doing anyway. Because of Jesus’ death, we can overcome the past. We have a new nature - the old one is gone. And powered by the Holy Spirit, we can move forward into the better way/place that God has promised. Don’t look back! Don’t quit! Stand firm today! Remember, you’ve been set free to be free.
