THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Paradox Church is part of a larger movement of churches throughout the world called Antioch (learn more at antioch.org) We’re taking 22 Days to pray together for 2022. Find today’s prayer here.
This past Sunday as I preached on the story of the woman caught in adultery (John 8), I had a thought. Here was a woman who didn’t have choices. Her fate quite literally was in the hands of those who would kill her. As I reflected on this passage last week, I thought: this is where sin always leads. Whether physical, emotional, relational, or spiritual - someway, somehow, at some point… sin will steal, kill, and destroy. Death is just where sin leads. Thankfully, the law - the prosecution - throws this woman at the feet of Jesus to judge. Jesus gives her a new command - Go and sin no more. Her sin had led to death - but the gift of God is life. Walk in a new way, Jesus says, down a new road. One that leads to life. Today, reflect on where choosing sin in your life will lead (think on some of the consequences) and leave it at Jesus’ feet, who invites you to go, sin no more, and live.
Worship - Join us for a night of worship and prayer to close the 22 days with the House of Prayer on Thursday, February 3 at 6pm at Paradox Church in Warren.
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
