Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Ezekiel 29-30 (Go Deeper: Romans 5:6-11)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
If you have young kids, or spend any amount of time with them, you’ve likely heard one word come naturally and repeatedly from their mouths… “Mine!” It’s not just a kid thing… it’s ours too. Over the years, the objects of our “Mine-ing” grow with us. We may stop grabbing at food or toys, but we never seem to stop claiming the things we want as “ours.” It’s my life. My relationship. My future. My weekend. My plans. My money. My stuff. My body. My time. My rights. In Ezekiel 29:9, God says that it’s actually this posture towards God and things that put us at odds with Him and bring our lives and world to ruins. Instead of clinging to what (rightfully), belongs to Him, it’s God’s character to give. Every single thing that we claim as “Mine” in this world actually belongs to God and has been given to us to use for God’s purposes and glory. We sin (making ourselves “god” when we claim God’s good gifts as our own. Worship, on the other hand, is acknowledging God as the owner and giver of everything we have, and giving them back to Him. That’s a posture God blesses!
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
