Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Ezekiel 33 (Go Deeper: Romans 5:1-5 & Ephesians 4:11-16)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
No one likes bad news. That’s part of the reason we watch and listen to the news we do. It’s a whole lot easier when people tell us what we want to hear. And it’s a whole lot more comfortable when the “bad news” isn’t about us and “our people.” We prefer our problems stay “out there.” A watchman’s job was to keep watch over a city or people and let them know when danger was coming. If he sounded the alarm and no one listens, the consequences could hardly be blamed on him. But if he doesn’t give the warning, he shares in the responsibility. We’ve already determined that each of us is responsible for our own sin (and the consequences of it.) While we’re not responsible for the consequences of others’ sin, we do have a responsibility to others. Who in your life tells you the truth - about who you are, what you’re doing, how you’re perceived, etc? Are you open to receiving it - or are you hard to talk to? Do you refuse correction? When your spouse, a friend, a pastor/mentor/lifegroup leader, or the pages of scripture call you out - how do you respond? Welcome the warning. Thankfully, it’s not your record before the warning that matters - it’s your response. How will you respond to God today?
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
