THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
We have a saying around our church - “Come as you are, No perfect people allowed.” Sometimes when we say something enough, the beauty, truth and power of the statement becomes familiar and we take it for granted. The truth is, we can’t simply come into God’s presence as we are. In Ezekiel 43:27, God says that there is a requirement - a sacrifice - that must be met before “I will accept you.” Thankfully, that sacrifice has been made once and for all in Jesus. In Jesus, God provides the sacrifice on our behalf. We simply get to accept God’s sacrifice as our own. When we accept Jesus as our sacrifice, God accepts us as His people. Because of Jesus, you can come just as you are. No need to be perfect on your own, because you can’t anyway. When you trust in Jesus’ sacrifice for yourself - your life becomes the altar that has been purified before God. Your worship becomes acceptable and pleasing to Him. And you may not wear a white collar, but you’ve become a priest! You’ve been made clean, right with God, and you have the privilege of standing in God’s presence, approaching Him boldly, and serving Him. Will you accept that?
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
