Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Ephesians 6:10-20. Today’s reading is from Isaiah 40:9-31 (Go Deeper: Deuteronomy 31:7-8, Psalm 28:7-8, Psalm 68:32-35 & 1 Corinthians 15:50-58)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Ever heard the phrase, “Fight fire with fire?” The basic idea is to use the same methods against your opponent that they are using against you. As Christians, the battles we face every day are rooted in the schemes of our enemy, the devil. Like an opposing football team, the demonic watch the “game film” of your life - they know your weaknesses, temptations, history, blind spots, and sin patterns. Because this is a spiritual battle, we have to fight with spiritual weapons. Trying harder, willpower, positive thoughts, guilt trips, or rewards and punishments won’t be enough. Our human strength won’t work. Our only hope is to “be strengthened in the Lord and put on the full armor of God.” God is the supplier of our strength and He equips us with His armor. We are called to depend on Him rather than ourselves or any other power. What do today’s readings say about God’s strength? In what areas of your life are you most tempted to rely on your own strength or abilities? How can you relinquish control and rely on God’s strength today?
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
