Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Ephesians 6:10-20. Today’s reading is from Psalm 119:159-168 (Go Deeper: Genesis 3:1-7, Ephesians 4:11-16 & 2 Timothy 1:13-14)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
The armor of God is both a metaphor and a reality for every follower of Christ. While looking at the purpose of each piece of physical armor can help us better understand the passage, the importance is not the specific connection between each piece of armor and its spiritual counterpart. Rather, the metaphor helps communicate the overall picture of how truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer are the weapons that will defeat the forces of evil. A Roman soldier’s belt was used to support the sword and breastplate and provided a place for bronze plates to hang. The belt was always worn, whether or not the other pieces of armor were put on that day. Similar to how the belt was worn daily, believers are called to meditate on God’s truth every day to counter the enemy’s deceit. What do today’s readings say about truth and why it is a critical part of engaging the enemy? What are the lies or falsehoods in your life where you need to seek God’s truth?
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
