Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is 1 Timothy 1:15. Today’s reading is from 1 Timothy 1:12-20 (Go Deeper: Psalm 32:1-5 & Acts 9:1-22)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
You know better.” I know I’ve heard those words when I was a kid, and certainly thought them now that I’m a parent. But that’s not always true! I often need to remember that my kids don’t always know better at all, and they don’t always need to be “taught a lesson,” which has a certain negative, punitive connotation. Paul says that his actions and his life came from ignorance (not knowing any better) or unbelief (knowing better but not believing God’s way IS better.) It’s interesting, though, that the solution isn’t punishment or being the hard truth. Paul says that God’s response to our sin is mercy, grace, love, and patience… and that actually has the power to change hearts and lives. We don’t learn our way to Jesus. We don’t try to do or be better. We aren’t saved by instruction. We’re changed by God’s love. We’re made better before we know better, which leads to being better.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
CONNECT. Have a question, prayer request, or story? Let us know here or reply via text.
SHARE. Invite a friend to read the Focus with you! Just text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Run the race with endurance today, and stay focused on Jesus.
Make it a Great One!
