Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists & let it play in the background.
FOCUS. Breathe in & out slowly. Pray, Jesus, you gave yourself for me. I give myself to you.
THANK. Write down or say out loud 3-5 things you’re thankful for from the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Read James 2:19. Focus on one truth about who God is & thank Him for it.
PRAY.
Pray the Lord’s Prayer, a Ripple Prayer, or find more at paradoxchurch.com/pray.
READ.
Today’s reading is from Mark 5 & Acts 9:39-41
ASK. After reading, ask the following SOS Questions & journal your thoughts.
S = Say. What is the main point? What does it teach about God (Jesus) & yourself?
O = Obey. What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
S = Share. Who can you share what you’re learning with today?
THINK. A Thought from Renee Richter
How have you been doing lately? Have you been dealing with any difficulty? Maybe the circumstances of this world seem too large and overwhelming, leaving you feeling helpless, maybe even afraid?
I have had a pretty rough few months. There is no need to get into details here but I have often fallen at Jesus’s feet asking for power, strength, and relief from those things troubling me. Reading today’s passages brought me encouragement. Demons fall at His feet. A fearful, sickly woman falls at His feet. Religious rulers fall at His feet. A tormented man is delivered. A woman sick and isolated for 12 years is healed. A young girl is raised from the dead. The Spirit and power of Jesus lives inside everyone who has accepted Jesus’s gift of salvation. Paul, in Ephesians, informs us this is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. With this power, Peter raised Dorcas from the dead. What does this mean for you and me today, right now? Does it mean we will be casting out demons, healing people, or raising them from the dead like Peter? Our God is limitless and I can’t say yes or no to this question. But what I can say is that those things in our lives that are overwhelming, scary, uncertain, and unexplainable cannot overpower us. We too can stand in the name and power of Jesus and overcome those things in our lives that seem too big to handle. We do this through prayer, reading the Bible and understanding who Jesus is right now. Bow  at His feet in honor of His authority as the Son of God. Understand who He is. Knowing  His character builds our faith and gives us the power to stand in those times of difficulty. Knowing who you are in Him fights uncertainty. Believe. Have faith. Conquer difficulty and confusion.
