THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave
I love Peter - he’s a man of action. After a true “mountaintop” experience with Jesus, coming to a place he described as, “good to be,” his natural response is to stay there. Why would he want, think, or do anything different? How many of us spend our moments, days, weeks trying to get to a “good place” in life - even a good place with Jesus? Then, utilizing our time, energy, and resources trying to stay there? As a fellow “doer,” the thoughts that flood my mind are what I need to do, what system or structure I can set up to stay in this good place. I worry and, if I’m honest, I get a little terrified of losing the good too. So I take action, grasp at control, and try to build something. But then a voice from heaven comes, letting me know the best thing I can do - listen to Jesus. It’s being in his presence and seeing him that is the good place. So ask him, “Jesus, will you open my eyes to see you, open my heart to be with you, and open my ears to listen to you today.”
TALK. That was our take - what’s yours? Share thoughts & ask questions in the forum.
