Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Ephesians 4:1-6. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Ephesians 2:11-18 (Go Deeper: 2 Corinthians 5:18-20, Matthew 18:15-20, Colossians 1:19-23 & 2 Corinthians 3:1-6)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
I like to break things down and put them back together. Looking at the smaller parts often helps me understand the whole. Every part brings meaning - but without getting put back together, the meaning is lost. If you break apart the word “reconcile,” you have re (which means “again,”) and concile, which comes from the Latin “concilio” - or “to unite, bring together.” We live in a time when breaking things down, deconstruction, division, and even destruction is everywhere - even fashionable. And while we may have good reason to break down the imperfect and unjust in our world, many stop there. Angry. Hopeless. Depressed. As Christians, we are called to go further than deconstruction. We have been given the ministry of reconciliation - bringing things and people back together again. That takes maturity, humility, patience, and sacrifice. But without this vision, what will we be left with? Because the Church is a people reconciled to God in Jesus Christ, believers can also be reconciled to one another as evidence of the hope found in Him.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
CONNECT. Have a question, prayer request, or story? Let us know here or reply via text.
SHARE. Invite a friend to read the Focus with you! Just text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.
Run the race with endurance today, and stay focused on Jesus.
Make it a Great One!
