Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP | 5-15 Minutes
Worship can be as simple as thanking God for who He is & what He’s done.
Start by playing some worship music you love, or choose from one of our Spotify Playlists.
Journal or say out loud 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
Going Deeper: Pray 1 Corinthians 15:21-22. Focus on one truth about who God is & thank Him for it.
PRAYER | 5-15 Minutes
Prayer is a conversation that involves both talking and listening to God.
Start praying for yourself using the Lord’s Prayer or pray for others using a Ripple Prayer.
Going Deeper: Learn more about prayer & try out a practice at paradoxchurch.com/pray.
SCRIPTURE | 5-25 Minutes
Our scripture focus for this study is Romans 3:23-24. Try memorizing it!
Today’s reading is from Romans 5:12-21
Ask the following SOS Questions & journal your thoughts…
S = Say. What is the main point? What does it teach about God (Jesus) & yourself?
O = Obey. What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
S = Share. Who can you share what you’re learning with today?
Going Deeper: Read Genesis 3:17-19. It’s been said that sin takes you further than you wanted to go, keeps you longer than you wanted to stay, and costs you more than you wanted to pay. Think through some of the unintended or unforeseen consequences of sin in your own life - whether past, present, or future.
A THOUGHT FROM TODAY’S READING
The good news is that Christ has redeemed us from the penalty of sin which is death. Hallelujah! All of humanity was faced with the problem of sin that resulted from the disobedience of one man - Adam. Just as by one man sin entered into the world, by the man Christ Jesus grace abounded all the more. This passage of scripture displays the contrast between Adam and Christ. Adam represents the condemnation of man (humanity), but Christ represents the justification of the believer. The law during the time of Moses could not bring about redemption, but rather it revealed our need of God’s holiness. Jesus the sacrificial lamb of God has redeemed us from the penalty of sin and death once and for all (I Peter 3:18). We serve a victorious God and he will always win over sin. Let’s thank God today for his redemptive power in which we receive the gift of eternal life. Praise God!!! - Colleen Payton
