THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
One of the overarching themes of the Bible is the astonishing love of God toward rebellious and sinful people. This aspect of God’s nature plays out in every setting and circumstance, including in our broken world. To truly know God - and, therefore, to truly walk in wisdom - we must not only know what God loves, but also what He hates. God hates sin but loves the people He has created. When you are sinned against or are a witness to sin, is hatred something that rises up in you? Why do you think that is? Read Proverbs 28:9 again., and consider what the first half of this verse has to do with the second.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
