Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Leviticus 20:26. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Leviticus 21-22 (Going Deeper: Psalm 15:1-2 & 1 Peter 2:9)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
You’re not what you do. Whether in the laws given to all Israelites in the previous section of Leviticus, or the instructions given for the religious leaders (priesthood) - Leviticus serves as a reminder of two truths: First, God’s people are set apart (holy) and second, it’s not our own action - good or bad - that ultimately makes us that way, but God. Each set of instructions given to the priests in this section closes with the reminder - “I am the Lord who sets them apart.” It’s a reminder for every one of us that our status and standing with God doesn’t come from ourselves or even the rituals they did, but God Himself. The nearer we want to draw to God, who is holy, the higher the standard of holiness. Thank God for His provision of Jesus, who was perfectly holy on our behalf. Through his sacrifice, we are able to intimately draw near to a holy God the way kids come close to their loving daddy. But the call to live holy lives isn’t just for Levitical priests - 1 Peter 2:9-10 calls all believers a “holy priesthood,” set apart to demonstrate the good news of what a life in God’s presence looks like to the world. Holy isn’t what we do, it’s who we are.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
