Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
If you’re new to the Focus, take as long as you’d like or are able in each segment.
Further Focus is an optional, additional practice to help you go further with Jesus.

WORSHIP FOCUS | 5-15 Minutes
Worship can be as simple as thanking God for who He is & what He does. (Psalm 100:4)
1. Start by journaling or saying out loud 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
2. Play or sing some worship music you love, or choose from one of our Spotify Playlists.
Further Focus: Declare what God’s Word says is true about who you are in Christ back to Him.

SCRIPTURE FOCUS | 5-15 Minutes
Pray a simple prayer before reading, asking the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth. (John 14:26)

A THOUGHT FROM TODAY’S READING…
Honestly, when reading this chapter, it seemed kind of all over the place. Samson doesn’t do what his parents suggest with who to marry. Then he tears a lion apart, when filled with God’s spirit. Then later he eats honey out of this lions carcass and gives some to his family without telling them where it came from? (Gross.) Later his wife tricks him. It all seems so random, but I felt like the Lord said to me “I am working in all of the seemingly random things of life. There’s nothing I am not involved in. There’s so place that I am not working my purposes.” Even in Samson’s poor choice in a wife, God was at work. Even in Samson’s mistake in telling her the riddle, God was at work. In the same way, He is working in your life; In the lives of those around you. Each day, we can choose who we will follow- God, the world, or our own desires. If you chose not to walk with God yesterday, take heart- it’s a new day! You can choose today to walk with him, to listen to him, and to let him accomplish his purposes in his way in your life. - Gwyn Kubiak

PRAYER FOCUS | 5-15 Minutes
Prayer is a conversation that involves both talking and listening to God.
If you’re just starting out, practice hearing from God by asking questions like, “Father, what do you want me to know about you?” or “Father, what do you want to say about your love for me?” Simply be still and listen, or journal anything that comes to mind.
