Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.

Today’s reading is from Acts 4:1-31 (Going Deeper: Proverbs 28:1 & Ephesians 3:12-21)
THINK. Thoughts & Prayers from Pastor Dave…
Prayer does what you can’t. Following Jesus in our world is not, will not, and should not be without resistance. Whether it comes internally, through relationships, leaders, location, or circumstance, Jesus promised that in this world we will have trouble. But he also says that we can take heart - have courage - because he has overcome the world (John 16:33). Peter and John had annoyed the wrong people. The religious leaders put them in jail for sharing about Jesus. They were called to give an answer for what they were doing in front of a high-council or court. Right about then is when most of us might take the hint, back off, quiet down, and shut up. But instead of taking a step back, Peter and John stepped up. They saw this as another opportunity to share about Jesus. That’s bold. The result? Nothing happens to them. They are released. Tons of people come to know Jesus. And others are inspired and emboldened to preach. And the underlying force behind all of this? Prayer. Pray for boldness to share Jesus even in the face of opposition and resistance today, and watch what God does.
LIVE. Use these questions to help you reflect on today’s reading. It’s ok if you don’t answer every question every day! Then, try praying in the posture of prayer you read about each day.
1 | Where is prayer present in today’s main passage?
2 | What is happening before, during, or after the prayer?
3 | Is one person praying, or are people praying together? Who?
4 | Which postures of prayer did you notice?
Praying Facedown, Praying while Fasting, Praying while Kneeling, Praying while Mourning, Praying w/ Outstretched Arms, Praying while Sitting, Praying while Standing, Praying w/ Uplifted Eyes, Something Else?
5 | What was the answer to the prayer?
6 | How is God addressed and/or described?
7 | What did you learn about how you can pray today?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
