Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Matthew 5:1-16 & Philippians 2:12-18
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Ever get a gift you didn’t like? Or a gift that wasn’t what you wanted? Maybe you’ve received a gift that didn’t seem useful or valuable at the time you received it. Some of God’s greatest gifts can be that way. In “The Beatitudes” (or Blessings), Jesus’ list doesn’t exactly match up with our Christmas Wish List. Instead, he lists the poor, the mourning, the humble, and the persecuted among those who are blessed - or happy. Why? Because that’s exactly when and where we’re positioned to receive God’s greatest gifts. Our world is a pretty dark place, full of these things. But in receiving even these things as God’s good gifts in our life, we can shine brightly into the darkness. Is there an attitude or perspective Jesus is inviting you to change today?
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
