A THOUGHT FROM PASTOR DAVE
Every good holiday road trip includes one question: Are we there yet? I love the way God cared for the Israelite people when He delivered them from their slavery in Egypt. He led them in a way that they could handle, so they wouldn’t change their minds. There was an easier, faster way they could have taken to get where they were going. But God, in His love, knew the cost of taking it.
God still leads those who would follow Him to better places. But it isn’t always easy. It isn’t always fast. It isn’t always the most direct route. In fact, it may take longer, be harder, and look darker than we wanted or had in mind. God doesn’t always and only lead in short, easy, painless ways. Sometimes, God leads us through the dark. Wherever you’re coming from, wherever you’re going, however dark and scary it might be, know this: God sent Jesus, the light of the world, to show us He’s with us and lead us to a better place. Trust He’s with you, protecting you - even in the darkest places - and follow Him to the better places He has for you. His way may not always feel good, but it’s always for our good.
