Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for from the last 24 hours.
Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
PRAY. What is stressful or challenging as you look ahead at this day? Write it down and talk w/ God about it.
READ.
Our Scripture Focus is Matthew 9:35-36. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Matthew 4:12-17, Mark 1:14-45 & Mark 2
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Jesus went from town to town preaching a simple message - repent, for the kingdom of God has come near. This simple message has two parts - God’s action and our response. In Jesus, God’s kingdom (His presence and rule - where God’s will is done perfectly. Think of it like heaven on earth!) had come to these towns, these people, and to each of us here today. In Jesus, God is near. Heaven is near. Available. But not everyone experienced (or experiences it.) Not everyone “enters into” it. Some, no doubt, simply went on with their daily life, despite the kingdom of God being so near they could touch it. Some were skeptical and doubted. Some believed they weren’t good enough, so they stayed away. Others were angered and hostile. Jesus said if ANYONE wanted to hear and experience the good news of this new present-reality, all they needed to do was “repent” and “follow Him.” Repent simply means to change our mind, heart, and action. Instead of running from this God who has come near in Jesus, we turn around to come near to Him in response. Following Him means that choice is not a one time thing. We continue to wake up and come near to Jesus with every thought, word, and action in every moment of every day. When we do, we find spiritual healing, physical healing, forgiveness of sin, rest, and so much more. Is there any way the Holy Spirit might be leading you to repent and follow Jesus today, in order that you might experience the nearness of God’s kingdom?
ASK. Throughout this study, we’ll be practicing Discovery Bible Study (DBS) together. After each day’s reading, ask the following questions and write down your thoughts.
What is the main point of this passage?
What does it teach you about God (Jesus)?
What does it show you about people, or yourself?
What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
Who can you share this with today?
How did you do practicing and sharing what you learned yesterday?

PRAY (AGAIN). Pray for a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who came to mind, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
TALK. That was our take on today’s reading - what’s yours? Share thoughts and ask questions in the forum.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
