Today’s reading is from Matthew 5:1-20, Luke 6:20-26, Matthew 6:1-4 & Matthew 7:7-12, 24-29
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Mike…
Brain. Over. Loaded. So many cool, deep things taught by Jesus in today’s readings. I can’t possibly comment on them all. I will focus on Matt 7:24-29 and challenge us to read it again, soak it all in, and ask the Holy Spirit to highlight one or two actions/attitudes he wants us to change based on what we are reading. I don’t know about you, but I want to be standing on a rock, not sinking sand, WHEN (not if) a storm comes. I will say no more today to give you more time to go back and read it again. If you have thoughts/questions, please take them to the forum where pastors and other Daily Focus readers can interact with them.
ASK. Throughout this study, we’ll be practicing Discovery Bible Study (DBS) together. After each day’s reading, ask the following questions and write down your thoughts.
What is the main point of this passage?
What does it teach you about God (Jesus)?
What does it show you about people, or yourself?
What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
Who can you share this with today?
How did you do practicing and sharing what you learned yesterday?
PRAY (AGAIN). Pray for a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who came to mind, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
