We all like bigger, better, and larger. (Remember the Super Size?) In 2022, you may have even set goals for yourself like, I want to ___ more or better, or a bigger paycheck, larger home, grow a following, or increase impact. As a leader, I get excited about the idea of expanding our vision and influence, taking new ground in ministry, reaching people we haven’t reached. As much as we love the first part of this, though, listen to the words that come with it: stretch, don’t hold back, lengthen, drive down deep. God has more for you in 2022, but to get there, your faith will be stretched. You’ll have to hold nothing back, and you’ll need to drive down deep in your relationship with God. The larger the tent, the more weight and pressure is on the pegs. Is your relationship with God deep enough to sustain the weight of what you’re asking God for this year?
