Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for from the last 24 hours.
Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
PRAY. What is stressful or challenging as you look ahead at this day? Write it down and talk w/ God about it.
READ.
Our Scripture Focus is Matthew 9:35-36. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Matthew 26:6-16 & Matthew 21
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
So much of today’s reading centers around worship. Typically, we think of worshipping with a song, perhaps a prayer, maybe you’ve even been in church enough to hear someone say we’re worshipping when we give. In today’s reading, we see people worship with perfume. With a donkey. With their clothes. How is that possible? Well, that’s because worship is whatever you give your king. Worship is saying, whatever the cost to get it, whatever the investment, it’s “worth it.” In a very real way, we could say that worship could actually be called “worth-ship.” And whoever, or whatever, you’re willing to give your worship to is your king. There are several examples today of people being willing to give anything and everything they had to their king Jesus. Worship is asking, “What can I give to Jesus?” But often those who claim to follow him ask another question. Like Judas, our perspective turns into what we can get for (or from…) Jesus. It’s a convicting thought. Am I more like those who willingly broke a jar of expensive perfume, who gave away a perfectly good donkey, or laid down their clothes in worship to their king Jesus? Or am I more like the (seemingly) smart investor who looked at Jesus as an opportunity for selfish gain? No matter what anyone says, worship is never wasted. Our worship, whatever form it takes, whatever we give to or for Jesus… it’s worth it. What can you give to Jesus today in worship?
ASK. Throughout this study, we’ll be practicing Discovery Bible Study (DBS) together. After each day’s reading, ask the following questions and write down your thoughts.
What is the main point of this passage?
What does it teach you about God (Jesus)?
What does it show you about people, or yourself?
What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
Who can you share this with today?
How did you do practicing and sharing what you learned yesterday?

PRAY (AGAIN). Pray for a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who came to mind, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
TALK. That was our take on today’s reading - what’s yours? Share thoughts and ask questions in the forum.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
