Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for from the last 24 hours.
Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
PRAY. What is stressful or challenging as you look ahead at this day? Write it down and talk w/ God about it.
READ.
Our Scripture Focus is Matthew 9:35-36. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Luke 22:39-65, Mark 14:53-65, Luke 22:66-71, Luke 23:1-12.
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Mike…
I’ll never forget the night I made a dear friend cry. It was sometime in my 20’s and a bunch of us were out at a bar. I got into a discussion about my faith with my inebriated, atheist friend. He posed this hypothetical situation to me: “If someone had a gun to my head and said you could save my life by just denying Jesus was your Lord and savior, would you do it?” I said no, I wouldn’t. I remember him being quite upset and things between us were strained for some time. I strongly doubt bold, young Mike would actually speak truth if the situation were real. I think I am in good and common company as we see in today’s reading that Peter, in a kind of similar situation, with his own life on the line, denied the Lord. Peter knew the truth that Jesus is God but couldn’t bring himself to say it. Contrast that with Jesus, who, with his life in the balance, stood in strong silence against his accusers UNTIL the pivotal question of his deity was raised. Then he could not stop himself from sharing the truth, because not only did Jesus know that speaking out on this question would cost him his life, he knew that stating this fact clearly for all generations to hear would ultimately save ours. Thank you Jesus for stating clearly who you are. Please help us to be bold enough to do the same when asked!
ASK. Throughout this study, we’ll be practicing Discovery Bible Study (DBS) together. After each day’s reading, ask the following questions and write down your thoughts.
What is the main point of this passage?
What does it teach you about God (Jesus)?
What does it show you about people, or yourself?
What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
Who can you share this with today?
How did you do practicing and sharing what you learned yesterday?

PRAY (AGAIN). Pray for a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who came to mind, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
TALK. That was our take on today’s reading - what’s yours? Share thoughts and ask questions in the forum.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
