Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for from the last 24 hours.
Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
PRAY. What is stressful or challenging as you look ahead at this day? Write it down and talk w/ God about it.
READ.
Our Scripture Focus is Matthew 9:35-36. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Luke 23:13-25, Mark 15:16-20 & Luke 23:26-43
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Conjunctions just don’t do well after Jesus’ name. When it’s “Jesus AND…” we end up loving and serving someone or something else more than Jesus. (As Jesus said, no one can serve two masters. You end up loving one and hating the other.) But things get even worse with “Jesus OR…” And yet, every one of us have made that choice. It’s what sent Jesus to the cross. Our choice. Given the choice between Jesus OR Barabbas, the mob screamed for Barabbas. One came to give life and life to the full (John 10:10), the other to take it, like the thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. We didn’t have to be in the mob that day to choose Barabbas, to have “blood on our hands” despite our best efforts to wash it off ourselves or not take responsibility for the cross. Sin is choosing Barabbas over Jesus. Death over life. Someone or something else over Jesus. Not surprisingly, choosing the murderer leads to death. But Jesus took that death so that we might have life. We’ve all chosen sin and death at some point. Today, choose life that you may live. Pray a simple prayer of confession today for anything you’ve chosen instead of Jesus, and then finish your prayer with “Thank you for dying that I might live. Today, I choose you, Jesus.”
ASK. Throughout this study, we’ll be practicing Discovery Bible Study (DBS) together. After each day’s reading, ask the following questions and write down your thoughts.
What is the main point of this passage?
What does it teach you about God (Jesus)?
What does it show you about people, or yourself?
What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
Who can you share this with today?
How did you do practicing and sharing what you learned yesterday?

PRAY (AGAIN). Pray for a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who came to mind, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
TALK. That was our take on today’s reading - what’s yours? Share thoughts and ask questions in the forum.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
