THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
I typically don’t think of ‘Love One Another’ when I think of commandments… but there it is. Commanded. I don’t know why, but it sometimes seems like being commanded not to do something is easier than being commanded to do something. All I have to do to not do something is, well, not do it. But a new commandment to love? I actually have to do that. I have to think about it. Maybe even plan it. That requires time, energy, resources. Can’t I just not do stuff? Sadly, Christians are often known for what we don’t do. But as followers of Jesus, we have a command to do something: love one another. How will others know that you are a follower of Jesus today? How will you obey His command?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
