Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Romans 15:5-6 & Romans 12:9-21
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
I love the Olympics. I always tear up at the medal ceremony. Seeing athletes who have dedicated so much of their life, given so much of themselves, worked so hard to pursue this dream is moving. Being a part the team, representing their country, and then winning Olympic Gold… it all makes me think, “What an honor.” That’s what honor does. It lifts up. Sets apart as special. Ascribes value and worth. It celebrates. Usually, we honor those who have taken the lead… but scripture tells us to take the lead in honor. That means we put in the work but someone else gets the prize. Today, what if we pursued honoring others with the diligence, zeal and fervor of an Olympic athlete? What if we worked to take the lead - be the best, the fastest, go the furthest, do the most - not for our own honor, but in honoring others. Today, honor someone personally or, better yet, publicly.
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
