THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
We don’t often realize it when we’re shopping at Meijer, (with our modern technology and transportation) but for most of history people knew that when it came to fruit and vegetables, there’s a time and a place. Fruit grows in season - meaning there are times when you can’t get it. It doesn’t grow. Similarly, there are conditions and climates that must be present for fruit to grow… thus, the “California” Raisins. Fruit needs the right conditions to grow. It really has nothing to do with effort. Our lives are the same. What do you want the “fruit” of your life to be? There are the works (or fruit) of the flesh… and then there are the fruit (or works) of the Spirit. Coconuts just don’t grow in Michigan, no matter how hard you try. In the same way, the fruit of the Spirit doesn’t just grow in any climate, no matter how hard you try. Today, don’t try to “stop sinning” or “be a better person.” Read 1 John 1:9 and Galatians 5:24 and ask Jesus to create a new climate in your heart that produces fruit. Then, watch it grow.
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
