Finding the source of the problem is the key to solving it. When things in our life are hard or not going our way, it can be tempting to look outside of ourselves for the source of the problem - we blame the other person, our employer, the situation, the other political party, etc. And when everyone is operating from that place, it actually creates a strange paradox - the thing that unites us all ends up dividing us. Scripture calls that “friendship with the world.” It’s the ultimate “love-hate” relationship. When we love ourselves and the things of this world, we end up with hate, wars and fighting. How do we get a different result? By getting to the source. Instead of taking away from others and tearing them down, we lower (humble) ourselves and build others up. How do we start? First, we submit to God (put God’s wisdom, plan, ways and desire above your own), resist the devil (by rejecting the proud, selfish motives we have) and instead choose to do everything we can to grow closer to God. If the source of the problem is (our)self, then the solution is replacing self with God - the source of life, and choosing to live out of a friendship with Him.
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
