Hezekiah was the bomb! He became king at the young age of 25, and what was the first thing he did? Not throw a huge party or start a fight with a neighboring nation to assert his power. He recognized that his country was in disarray and that the reason was they had strayed from their relationship with God. He gathered the priests and had them reopen the temple, restart the practices of giving sacrifices to the Lord, and start a worship revival that lasted days longer than was planned. And it worked! We need to learn from Hezekiah and be part of a modern day movement that invites people back to relationship with God through the church. It won’t be perfect. Like in Hezekiah’s day, there will never be enough “priests” to handle the work, and there will always be people who laugh at the invitation. But, if we who are called to be God’s people will “humble ourselves, pray and seek his face, and turn from their evil ways, then God will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land.”

P = Pause. As you start your time of prayer, pause and be still before the Lord.
R = Read. Read the passage of the day (from the Daily Prayer Guide) slowly and be sensitive to the words or phrases that the Holy Spirit is highlighting to you.
A = Ask. Ask God to come and speak to you. Open up your heart to your heavenly Father.
Y = Yield. Yield your life to the words you have prayed and commit to follow Jesus’ way.
