Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Ezekiel 36:26 & Ezekiel 1-2 (Go Deeper: Revelation 4)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Know anyone who says “like” a lot? They’re in good company. Ezekiel says “like,” “likeness,” “appearance of,” or “seemed to be” 28 times… in the first chapter alone. Why? Because he has had a vision of God. And God is unlike anyone we’ve ever seen, known, or understand. It’s my prayer that over the next 40 Days, each one of you will encounter God in a powerful way, just like Ezekiel. Because when we encounter God, we leave God’s presence changed. God’s presence fills us with awe, wonder, and even fear. When we look for God, we find Him. We see Him - perhaps not with our eyes, but presented in the truth of scripture - or feel His presence. We can gaze upon His beauty. But when we encounter God, He will also speak. Encountering God leads to obedience - doing what He says to do. We may fear God when we see and understand Him rightly, as we should, but a healthy fear (think respect) of God will lead us to not fear (be worried about) what others think, say, or do. When we see God, we’ll fear Him. And when we fear God, we’ll do what He says. Lent is a season of listening to God - specifically words of lamentation, mourning, and woe over our hard-heartedness and rebellion. What might he be saying to you? (Remember, although God is powerful, God lays down His power in Jesus to take the punishment for our sin. Now, we can approach Him boldly, with confidence, and no fear.)
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
