Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Ezekiel 36:26 & Ezekiel 3 (Go Deeper: Isaiah 6)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Of course. On the first day of a fast, some of the first words we read in today’s scripture are about eating. “Eat this scroll.” God says. Fill your belly with it. And taste that it is sweet as honey. It’s a beautiful picture of what God’s word is. When we’re fasting, we intentionally go without one thing to fill up on God' and His word. Not only will we find that God is more satisfying than the empty calories of life we “fill up” on, but God is more powerful. How many of us head to the spiritual gym on the equivalent of a pixie stick and then wonder why we have no energy or strength? God’s presence is satisfying. God’s word is fulfilling. It gives us strength, energy, and power. When we fill up on the word of God, our words carry God’s power. We’re able to speak even difficult words of warning with love, power, and the knowledge that His word is indeed good, sweet, and filling. When we pray God’s word, His promises, our words carry power to accomplish God’s purposes. Don’t just go without something over the next 40 days. Fill up on the word of God, and see His power at work in you.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
