Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Ezekiel 36:26 & Ezekiel 6-7 (Go Deeper: Galatians 6:7-9 & James 4:1-6)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Temples in the high places to false gods. Money. Food. Comfort. Pleasures. Stumbling blocks that brought about terrible, unforeseen consequences. Everything that Israel valued more than God. That’s what an idol is - and person, place, thing, or thought you look to as your source of comfort, pleasure, and life. And in an instant, the things they had spent their lives pursuing would be gone. The illusion that everything was fine would be shattered. Things rendered meaningless. God’s heart crushed. Nothing but destruction, desolation, and disaster. Idols always leave you empty. Sin always leads to destruction. “Yet I will leave a remnant.” Why? What Israel forgot is for us to remember. Over 60 times throughout Ezekiel, God says “Then you will know that I am the Lord.” Why is that so important for us to know? Because the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life. Life to the full. Forever. In Him. There is no life apart from God. During this Lenten season, make time to lament - to grieve our own sin and express sorrow over the brokenness of the world, to which our sin contributes. Confess it. And then remember 1 Peter 2:24 - (Jesus) himself bore our sins in his body on the tree; so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
