Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Ezekiel 20:1-31 (Go Deeper: Hebrews 3:7-12)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Does it ever bother you when people thank God or give credit to their “Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” when their life and work seems so far from it? Take it a step further - what if those practicing downright evil (injustice, abuse, or even child sacrifice) claimed to be doing it in Jesus’ name? What kind of world would we live in? What would people think of a God who seemed to not only approve of, but bless evil and the people perpetrating it? God is not concerned with His name because He is conceited - God is concerned about His name because people He loves are watching and learning what He is like from the people who claim to know Him, follow Him, and act in His name. This story is His story, after all. God chose. God swore an oath. God made Himself known. God brought people out of slavery in Egypt. God led them to a good land. God is a good God, and His actions are good. Our response is to give God the glory (credit) for His work, and show the rest of the world just how good He is by the way we live.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
