Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Ezekiel 25-26 (Go Deeper: Luke 10:13-16)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Yesterday we talked about the effects of our own sin on others. Today, we’re focusing on how the way we treat others, especially God’s people (especially the Church), can be sin itself. God’s judgment turns to the cities around Judah, for the ways they have treated them. In each case, the “punishment fits the crime.” Do you take any pleasure in the misfortune or downfall of another Christian, church, pastor, or leader? God doesn’t, and the Ammonites were judged for the “Aha!” in their heart toward God’s people. Do you see someone as not that special whom God has made? Can you not wait for someone to be “exposed for what they are”? Be careful that you’re not exposed. Do you have bitterness, anger, resentment, and unforgiveness toward someone? Are you looking for some way of revenge? Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. Do you hold contempt and hatred in your heart? Do you “cut people off?” Thank God He doesn’t cut us off from His goodness and mercy in Jesus. Father, let us be faithful today, even when those around us aren’t.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
