Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists & let it play in the background.
FOCUS. Our memorization & meditation focus for this study is Amos 5:24.
Breathe in & out slowly. Pray, Jesus, you are just & righteous. Flow through me.
THANK. Write down or say out loud 3-5 things you’re thankful for from the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Read Jeremiah 22:3-5. Focus on one truth about who God is & thank Him for it.
PRAY.
Pray the Lord’s Prayer, a Ripple Prayer, or find more at paradoxchurch.com/pray.
READ.
Today’s reading is from Amos 6 & Revelation 3: 14-22
ASK. After reading, ask the following SOS Questions & journal your thoughts.
S = Say. What is the main point? What does it teach about God (Jesus) & yourself?
O = Obey. What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
S = Share. Who can you share what you’re learning with today?
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Mike
Are you at ease in your faith? That may sound like a good thing, but according to what God says in today’s reading from Amos and what he tells John in the book of Revelation, it could be a big problem. When we learn of God’s love for us, accepting Jesus as our Lord based on his saving work on the cross, we should be troubled by some things in this world. We should desire and act to help those in need, the “widows and orphans” of our world. We should desire and act to share the life changing, life saving gospel to those who don’t know Jesus. If we are not acting on these things then we are “lukewarm” in our faith. This position makes God sick to his stomach.
I just got back from a hike up north with some guys. The one morning when we hit the trail I asked God for a word. “Boldness” came to mind. Clearly God knew I would be typing up this focus a few days later. I accept his challenge to heat up my faith and be more bold in sharing with others. Who’s with me?
