Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Ephesians 4:1-6. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Acts 15:1-35 (Go Deeper: 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, Luke 1:1-4, Hebrews 13:8-9, 1 Corinthians 11:2, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Thessalonians 2:15, 2 Timothy 1:13-14, 2 Timothy 2:2 & 2 Timothy 4:3)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
What are some of your favorite traditions? The word “traditional” gets a bit of a bad rep in our modern, all-things-new culture. It is often used as a synonym for old, outdated, or even “not as good.” But traditions can be good and beautiful - even necessary - things. Much of our current culture (and how many feel as a result) is a result of the past few decades of deconstructing (tearing down) institutions, traditions, and even truth. While it’s true that every generation needs a new revolution, there is much to be gained by building on the wisdom and advancements of the past. We go further - not to mention how exhausting it is to constantly start over or reinvent the wheel. Our goal should not be to re-create the gospel for each generation, but to re-present it. The Church is called to faithfully teach the gospel of Jesus as presented through Scripture, passed down from eyewitnesses and the apostles. We are to guard against false teachings and ideologies that alter or distract from the good news.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
CONNECT. Have a question, prayer request, or story? Let us know here or reply via text.
