Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
MEMORIZE. Our Scripture Focus for this study is Exodus 15:1-3. Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry God’s Word with us wherever we go.
READ. Today’s reading is Exodus 19 & Exodus 20:1-21. (Go Deeper: Matthew 5:7, Hebrews 8:10-13, Hebrews 12:18-24)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Mike…
One thing people like less than being told what to do is being told what not to do. Today we find the Israelites following God, doing what he commands, and now they are saddled with 10 rules that largely limit their behavior. Seems so unfair, or at least that’s what they surely thought. Why would God impose these rules/commandments on them during such a tough stressful time? Because God knows boundaries bring freedom and life. Knowing where the cliff is located is an important step in avoiding it. Are you experiencing hardship and/or separation from God because you are out-of-bounds on one of God’s basic commends? Read them again carefully (Exodus 20) and then have an honest conversation with God about it.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
CONNECT. Have a question, prayer request, or story? Let us know here or reply via text.
SHARE. Invite a friend to read the Focus with you! Just text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.
Run the race with endurance today, and stay focused on Jesus.
Make it a Great One!
