Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Revelation 1:8. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Exodus 3:7-17, Exodus 6:2-11, Psalm 118:1-7, John 8:31-36 & Hebrews 3:1-6
THINK. A Thought from Holly MacDonald…
Though we may not be physically enslaved today, our sin does the same thing to us. Jesus said, “Everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” (John 8:34). Unfortunately, not a single person, apart from Christ, is exempt. Sin is powerful and has a way of taking over a person’s life. It ruins our relationship with God and others, robs us of joy and peace, and we cannot free ourselves. The Bible says in Romans 6:23, that the “wages of sin is death”. It refers to both a physical death and an eternal separation from God. In order to experience the true JOY of Jesus’ birth, we have to come face to face with the weight of our sin. We need Jesus to come. We desperately need a Savior, one who would pay the price for our sin, dying the death we deserve, and make a way for us to spend an undeserved eternity with God Himself. After we repent and believe the good news of Jesus, we get to live a life of freedom! We are now free from the law, from earning righteousness, and free from the weight of our sin. Walk in freedom today, friends!
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
TALK. That was our take on today’s reading - what’s yours? Share thoughts and ask questions in the forum.
