Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Revelation 1:8. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Isaiah 40:3-5, Luke 1:57-80, John 1:6-9 & 15, & Matthew 11:1-10
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
”Good things come in small packages.” “Oh, it’s a box!” These phrases are repeated every Christmas. Though not much to look at, the giver knows that something valuable is inside. Christmas gifts are a reminder that some of the best gifts don’t come in the biggest or flashiest packages. It’s not the outside that counts - it’s what’s on the inside. God said of King David, “Humans do not what the Lord sees, for humans see what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart.” Thousands of years later, God would say to a small, seemingly insignificant pregnant virgin named Mary that she should name her baby Jesus, because he would save his people from their sins. God has always chosen the insignificant, the despised, and the unexpected to do His greatest work. Not all that glitters is gold. This Christmas, don’t chase after the shiny new toys of the world. Instead, be expecting your loving Father God to give the greatest gifts in unexpected ways. He already did in Jesus. We’d love to celebrate with you on Saturday, December 24 at Paradox Church at 10am and 10pm.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
TALK. That was our take on today’s reading - what’s yours? Share thoughts and ask questions in the forum.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.
Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
