Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
ENTER. Write down or say out loud 3-5 things you’re thankful for from the last 24 hours.
FOCUS. Slowly breathe in… and out. Pray, Jesus, I surrender to you today and trust in you.
READ.
Our Scripture Focus is 2 Chronicles 7:13-14. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from 2 Chronicles 8-9 & Psalm 72
THINK. A Thought from Jessica Glenn…
Has anyone ever asked you if you could choose which time period of history to go back to and live in, what would that be? After reading these past few days on the reign of King Solomon after his father David, I wouldn’t mind a taste of life while he was king. Inflation these days is on the rise but in King Solomon’s day silver was not even considered of value! Wow! Take me back. But what I love even more about our readings is that King Solomon had a reputation that had reached the ears of those who lived far away, specifically, today we read about the Queen of Sheba visiting King Solomon to see if all the rumors she had heard of his great wisdom and the blessing of God on this nation were true. And she is left speechless stating that the rumors only did him 50% justice in being accurate. King Solomon’s wisdom and execution of justice gave such honor and glory to God, the giver of this great wisdom, and left the nations in awe of His blessing over His people. There was no doubt that this was God’s chosen nation and He had chosen to honor King Solomon’s humility with abundant blessing. I love Solomon’s cry to God in Psalm 72 for justice and righteousness to be carried out through his reign and for abundance and blessing for the sake of those he led. Sounds like a servant leader to me. And he ends stating this could only be don’t by God and desired that His glory would fill the earth. Not all of us are kings or queens (not any really that I know of), but we can learn much from Solomon’s heart to seek His wisdom in all areas that he was given responsibility over to lead with righteousness and justice with the heart of God to defend the weak and bring blessing to those he led. I am asking God, my source for all things, for wisdom today in my own areas of leadership and influence whether at work or with my family or at church that I would have the wisdom of God for the blessing of those I lead that they would thrive to the glory of God.
