Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Ruth 4:14. Try memorizing it this week!
Today’s reading is from Ruth 2:18-23 (Going Deeper: Deuteronomy 25:5-10, Psalm 41:1-3 & Galatians 6:9-10)
THINK. A Thought from Holly MacDonald…
In the middle of life’s most difficult moments, it is easy to allow bitterness to take root, like Naomi experienced (Ruth 1:20). Bitterness has a blinding effect, closing our eyes and heart to see the Lord at work in the middle of our hard circumstances. One day though, Naomi took careful notice of the abundance Ruth gleaned from her days work (Ruth 2:18). Naomi recognized the Lord’s provision! It was no accident that Ruth ended up working in a field whose owner was a close family member of Naomi and also legally had the obligation to take care of relatives in serious difficulty. Though you may find yourself waiting on God to help, remember, God is always at work behind the scenes, rescuing us from the pit and providing for us a solid foundation to land. In what ways can you recognize God at work in a trouble that you’re facing? How have you seen the Lord provide in it?
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.
Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
