As Holly mentioned on Friday, God was at work behind the scenes, paving a way for Naomi and Ruth to be provided for, and Naomi recognized it. In today’s reading Naomi and Ruth take action. I think it’s so important for us to understand that when God makes a way for us there is still steps we need to take in faith. Let’s not miss out on the plans God has to prosper us because of fear. Ruth took a big chance offering herself to Boaz. If rejected she could have lost access to Boaz’s fields. Her “yes” became a big part of God’s plan to redeem Naomi and Ruth, and ultimately part of God’s plan to redeem us all. We see in the genealogy of Jesus fro Matthew 1 that Boaz and Ruth are part of the ancestral line that Jesus is born into. What step is God inviting you to take today? Who knows…maybe your “yes” will change the world.
