Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Ruth 4:14. Try memorizing it this week!
Today’s reading is from Ruth 4:1-12 (Going Deeper: Psalm 127 & 1 Peter 1:18-19)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
When offered the chance to buy (redeem) more land, the man in today’s story jumped at the chance. Who wouldn’t want the opportunity to grow their family’s wealth, status, power, influence, and ability to provide? But when he found that those very things might actually be at risk by acquiring more (he’d be taking a new wife too), he changed his mind. Boaz’s motivation was different - to perpetuate the deceased man’s name. In doing so, everyone who witnessed it wished a well-known name for Boaz. Little did they (or he) know just how well known his name would become, and how his act of service and generosity would truly perpetuate someone else’s name - Jesus - who would come from Ruth’s lineage. Jesus said that when we look out for our own interests/name we have a way of losing those things. But when we look to serve the interests of others, we actually find everything we need and more. Look out for someone else today! Seek first God’s kingdom - not your own. Make His name known!
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
