Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Hebrews 12:1-2. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Hebrews 12:1-17 (Going Deeper: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 & James 1:2-4)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
I am not a runner, but it’s easy to relate to today’s reading. The struggles are real - difficult family dynamics, bad days at work, parenting hardships, marriage issues, financial struggles, mental health, hopeless situations, bad habits and addictions… the list goes on. We all get tired. Life can be exhausting, and following Jesus is hard. If we’re honest, we’ve all wanted to give up. If you’re there, today’s encouragement is simple (even if it’s not easy) - “so that you won’t grow weary and give up (v3).” What are these “so that's” that will help us not grow weary? Trying to do it all on your own and/or in isolating yourself is exhausting. Remember, you’re not alone. Carrying around guilt, shame, and sin will weigh you down and hold you back. Get rid of it. Losing focus of the end goal will make you want to quit. Keep your eyes on Jesus. And finally, if you’re losing sight of why you’re doing this and where God is in it, remember that God is using it all to strengthen you… if you’ll let him. Don’t reject God’s grace in difficulty. When you’re tempted to give up on people, pursue peace. When you’re tempted to give up on following Jesus, don’t settle for soup. And when you’re tempted to give up on hope for the future, don’t get stuck in the moment. Remember the promise, and press on.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
TALK. That was our take on today’s reading - what’s yours? Share thoughts and ask questions in the forum.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
