THINK. A Thought from Jessica Glenn…
This season, we celebrate the fact that Jesus, the Son of God, who humbly took on full human form yet was still fully God, came as an innocent baby whose entire mission and intent was to do the will of His Father. This intent was to ultimately become and embody sin, my sin, taking it upon Himself on the cross bearing the full punishment and consequence that I deserved. Usually, Resurrection Sunday is a time focused on His freeing us from sin and death but Jesus’ coming to earth is actually the beginning of this amazing act of love. The powerful thing about His coming is that He came to give us a new identity and freedom from sin that no longer has power over us as followers of Jesus and freedom from fear of eternal punishment, death and separation from Him forever. Our new identity is one of grace and hope - this is what now defines us. And this reality is all possible because Jesus came - Emmanuel - God with us. I bless you today with a spirit of wisdom and revelation in this knowledge of who Jesus is and who you are because His birth, life, death and resurrection.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
